Understanding Available Rebate Programs

There are several rebate and assistance programs available in Nova Scotia designed to help homeowners improve energy efficiency and reduce heating costs.

Program availability, funding, and eligibility can change over time. Some programs may be paused or have limited funding depending on demand.

Our team stays up to date and can help you understand which programs are currently available and what may apply to your home.

Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program (OHPA)

The Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program has been a popular option for homeowners looking to switch from oil heating to electric heat pumps.

This program is currently paused, but may reopen when funding becomes available.

If and when programs like this are active, we can help guide you through the process.

Do I Need to Pay Everything
Up Front?

This is one of the most common questions we hear.

In many cases, no.

Depending on the program, some homeowners may have access to options that reduce upfront costs or provide reimbursement after installation.

Important to know:

Clean Air Atlantic does not handle rebate payments directly. Rebates are managed by Efficiency Nova Scotia. Our role is to help guide you so you understand what to expect at each step.

Many homeowners are surprised to learn they qualify.

The easiest way to find out is to simply ask. You don’t need to have all the answers ahead of time. That’s what we’re here for.

How We Help Make it Simpler

Government programs can feel confusing. Our role is to make the process easier, not more complicated. We work with available rebate programs to help determine what options make the most sense for your home.

We help by:

  • Answering your questions in plain language

  • Explaining which programs may apply to your home

  • Helping you understand what documentation is needed

  • Coordinating installation once eligibility is confirmed.

We don’t pressure you into upgrades and we don’t promise anything we can’t deliver.
